"I like to teach world history because to do that, I have to be learning constantly.I spent much of my early career doing very detailed research on sometimes obscure subjects, and it is fun to focus on big ideas and patterns across cultures.When I started at UGA in the fall of 2012, I wanted to double major in psychology and anthropology with a minor in Spanish.However, after learning about the College of Public Health and realizing that I wanted to place a greater emphasis on learning a language, I quickly switched to double major in health promotion and behavior and Spanish instead.Studying history means analyzing the many forces that shape human experience, and learning to see how heterogeneous societies are, even within a single historical moment.



School-based field experience is the heart of the program; students are placed in a middle-grades classroom with an experienced mentor teacher beginning in their first semester, building toward full-time student teaching in their last.
